While working I got a sever pain in my wrist. Fortunately there was a drug store in the shopping center with a large orthopedic section. I showed the expert where my pain was and he said "BAND IT". I said what!
There is a muscle that runs along the top of the forearm that connects above the elbow and the other end connects to the wrist. When it is under a lot of strain it tightens and pulls at one end or the other. So, the elbow, the wrist, or the spot where the muscle balls up hurts.
BAND IT is two pieces of curved plastic with rubber inside it and a velcro band that goes around the outside. The BAND IT, put on snugly, but not tight, where the muscle is tightened, just below the elbow, works by not letting the muscle ball up too much. It reduces the strain, and the pain is gone.
BAND IT can be found on the web. It costs about $35 - $40. There is something else similar you can use Ace Elbow Strap. It is good but not quite as good as BAND IT, but it costs around $10.
I can only say, in my salon the BAND IT was in continuous use by one person or another.
